RCMP said the death of 23-year-old Cheyenne Omeasoo in Grande Prairie is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim was found deceased in a residence on August 11th at approximately 11:18 p.m. RCMP are seeking public assistance from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area of Mountainview Manor between 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. on August 11th or 12th.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700. 

Update: Amadeus Laforce was arrested July 3rd, 2026, and charged with second-degree murder. He’s scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on July 6th.
