Montreal, Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List

22-year-old Jean-Christophe Desrosiers has died after being shot while inside a pickup truck in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough. Montreal police received several 911 calls of gunshots near Carmel and Henri-Julien avenues, around 11:45 a.m, on August 20th.

Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from serious gunshot wounds and transported him to hospital, where he later died.

Investigators found shell casings and bullet holes at the scene and initially treated the incident as an attempted murder investigation. A 17-year-old boy was arrested near the scene in connection with the shooting.

Update: 35-year-old Véronique Giroux and a 17-year-old are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Jean-Christophe Desrosiers. Desrosiers was shot while he was driving his pickup truck.
