Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in a wooded area near 94 Avenue on August 13th at approximately 3:20pm.

Police arrived to find the victim 27-year-old Joshua Lavallee deceased at the scene. The exact cause of death has not been released at this time.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit has charged 31-year-old Ryan Lavallee with second-degree murder. Police said they are not looking for any other suspects and no further information will be released.
