New Brunswick 2026 Homicide Victim List

The New Brunswick RCMP has identified Michael Eric Claude Steeves as the victim in a death that is now being investigated as a homicide.

The investigation began on August 4, 2026, when officers with the Caledonia Region RCMP detachment responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence on Route 910 in Shenstone. Police arrived at approximately 7:30 p.m. and found the body of a 57-year-old man inside the home.

Investigators have since determined that the death is being treated as a homicide.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with a male driver who stopped and spoke with a person walking along Route 910 between Shenstone and Hillsborough.

Police are also looking to identify a woman who may have provided transportation to an individual during the evening of August 2 and into the early morning hours of August 3. The person may have been travelling along Route 910 between Shenstone and Hillsborough or on Main Street in Hillsborough.
