Montreal police responded to the report of gunshots on Marie Rollet Street near Guy Bouchard Boulevard, on February 9th at approximately 9:00pm.

 The 46-year-old male victim was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity, but said he was known to investigators.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Update February 18th
The victim has been identified as Domenic Macri. His brother and business partner, Mario Macri, was shot to death in a commercial garage four years ago, just a kilometre away.

Domenic Macri is listed as the owner of the Brasserie des Rapides, a Restaurant & Bar that opened in 1990.

Investigators said the Macri brothers were known to Montreal police, but could not elaborate.
