Lucas Gaudet, 16, was stabbed during a confrontation with several teens just outside St-Thomas High School in the Pointe-Claire on Tuesday, February 8th. The victim was a student at John Rennie High School, located roughly two kilometers from St. Thomas High School.
According to reports, a motorist came to the aid of the teenager until the arrival of first responders. 16-year-old Gaudet was rushed to hospital, suffering from stabbing injuries to the upper body. Sadly the teen succumbed to his injuries on February 10th. A 15-year-old was also injured during the altercation but only sustained minor injuries.
Originally a 16-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder and six other counts in connection with the stabbing. Now that the victim has died Police said an autopsy will be performed and that further charges could be laid.
Update February 18th
A 16-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Lucas Gaudet. The teen will remain detained until his bail hearing, which has been pushed back to March 1.
A gofundme campaign has been created to help his family with the hospital and funeral expenses.
