Update: Victim Identified – IHIT investigates the homicide of a man in Langley

Langley RCMP responded the 1800 block of 224 Street after a report of man down, on February 10th at approximately 1:30am.

Officers arrived to find the man already deceased. The cause of death and victims identity has not been released at this time. Police said the homicide does not appear to be a random act.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Langley RCMP.

Information will be added as it becomes available. IHIT is seeking dashcam footage from anyone who was on 224th Street between 16th and 40th Avenues between 11:00 p.m. on February 9th and 1:30 a.m. on February 10th.

Update Febryary 12th
The victim has been identidied by IHIT as 57-year-old Sarbjeet Sander. Police believe Sander’s death was not random, but also not linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
