Update: Winnipeg police investigate the homicide of Daniel Raymond Garvey – Rodriquez

Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol Units and the Tactical Support Team responded to the 200 block of College Avenue for the reports of a male who had been shot on September 10th at approximately 6:45 p.m.

On arrival police located 25-year-old Daniel Raymond GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ, outside an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Update: Members of the Homicide Unit continued to investigate and have now identified a suspect in relation to the deaths of GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ, 25, and previously released Edgar Allan BEAR, 56.

These two incidents are not believed to be related.

Maxim Dale GARNEAU, 27 years old, has been identified as the suspect. After consultation with the Manitoba Prosecution Service, two charges of Second Degree Murder have been authorized, and Warrants of Arrest have been issued.

He was arrested in the Point Douglas area with a loaded rifle in his backpack on April 11.
