Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List

Quebec provincial police are investigating a fatal shooting at a restaurant in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, southwest of Montreal.

The Sûreté du Québec was called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. on September 4th, after reports of a shooting. Jordan Gagné, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died.

Police say the suspect or suspects left the area following the shooting. No arrests have been reported.

The homicide investigation is being led by the Sûreté du Québec’s crimes-against-persons unit.

Update: Quebec provincial police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 19-year-old Ayoub Mohamed, who is wanted in connection with a Sept. 4 homicide in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.  Police believe he is travelling on foot. He could be in the Terrebonne, Laval, Montreal (Dollard-des-Ormeaux) areas and surrounding regions.

Mohamed is described as:

  • Height: 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in)
  • Weight: 64 kg (140 lb)
  • Hair: Brown (shaved)
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Distinguishing feature: thin mustache

Since the events, the suspect has reportedly altered his appearance by shaving his head. He is said to wear a blue headband to conceal his face when he is out and about (see photos).

Anyone who sees this individual is asked not to interact directly with him and to contact 911. In addition, any information that could help locate Ayoub Mohamed should be communicated, confidentially, to the Sûreté du Québec’s Criminal Information Centre at 1 800 659-4264 .
