Maxim Dale GARNEAU is wanted for second-degree in the Winnipeg homicide of Edgar Allan Bear

Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue on the report of a deceased male on March 18, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m.

The deceased has been identified as Edgar Allan BEAR, 56, a member of the Peguis First Nation, who was residing in Winnipeg. His cause of death has not been released.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.

Update: Maxim Dale GARNEAU, 27 years old (seen in the image below), is currently wanted for 2nd Degree Murder. GARNEAU, is considered dangerous.

He was arrested in the Point Douglas area with a loaded rifle in his backpack on April 11.

Update: On October 7, 2024, members of Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team arrested Breanne Joan BRUYERE (25), wanted in connection for the murder of Edgar Allan BEAR (56), on March 18, 2024.

She has been charged with Manslaughter and Obstructing Justice and detained in custody.
