British Columbia 2026 Homicide Victim List

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on September 14, 2026, Fort St. James RCMP officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a home in the 800-block of BC Spruce Road. Upon arrival, frontline officers discovered a 77-year-old man suffering from severe, life-threatening injuries. BC Emergency Health Services paramedics quickly transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition, but despite emergency life-saving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Those responsible for the assault fled the area prior to police arrival and remain at large. The BC RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken control of the investigation and deployed officers to the community to gather evidence and process the scene.

While details remain limited in the early stages of the probe, police believe the attack was an isolated and targeted incident, suggesting no ongoing threat to the general public. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or who may have noticed suspicious activity along BC Spruce Road overnight—and who has not yet spoken with police—to contact the Fort St. James RCMP immediately.
