Windsor, Ontario 2026 Homicide Victim List

Officers were called to the Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus on Lens Avenue shortly after 5:30 a.m. on February 18, 2026.

Police say an unconscious man was found in the parking lot suffering from a serious injury. He was transported to the Emergency Department, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as a 44-year-old Windsor resident. Authorities have confirmed this marks the city’s first homicide of the year.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, which remains in its early stages. Police are continuing to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following an investigation, officers identified a suspect and located him at a home in the 9200 block of Broderick Road in LaSalle. Just before 9 p.m. on Feb. 18, members of the Windsor Emergency Services Unit carried out a warrant at the residence, arresting the suspect without incident.

Just before 9 p.m. on February 24, 2026, officers from the Windsor Police Service Problem-Oriented Policing Unit arrested 25-year-old Robert Joseph Labrecque in the 500 block of Windsor Avenue. He was taken into custody on outstanding warrants related to probation violations.

Following his arrest, Labrecque was also charged with first-degree murder.

On March 27, 2026, just after 5:30 p.m., officers from the Major Crimes Unit took Daycota Dunne into custody at a home in east Windsor. She is facing a charge of accessory after the fact to murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Sydney Cox.
