The 2026 Toronto Homicide Victim List is available here
Toronto police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Lawrence Avenue East and Underhill Drive area that has been identified as the city’s 25th homicide of 2026.
Police responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:22 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026. According to investigators, the victim and suspect were travelling in separate vehicles when the suspect allegedly fired a gun at the victim.
The victim was struck by the gunfire and suffered life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures before transporting him to hospital for treatment.
Four days later, on Thursday, September 17, police said the victim died from his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Raghav Sharma, 27, of Caledon.
Suspect Charged With Second-Degree Murder
On Saturday, September 19, Tahir Mian, 23, of Stouffville, turned himself in to police. He was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Mian is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, located at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. His appearance is scheduled for Room 106.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The case marks Toronto’s 25th homicide of 2026.
