Update: Two Men Charged – Melissa Price Identified as Victim in Moncton Garbage Bin Death; Police Investigating City’s First Homicide of 2026

New Brunswick 2026 Homicide Victim List

Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death on High Street in Moncton on February 15, 2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m.

When police arrived, they discovered the body of a woman, believed to be approximately 40 years old, inside a garbage bin located outside near a walking trail.

In the early morning hours of February 16, investigators carried out a police operation on Norwood Street in connection with the case. Authorities have since determined the woman’s death is suspicious and are treating it as a homicide. The investigation remains ongoing.

On March 9th 2026 RCMP identified the victim as 39-year-old Melissa Price.

Update: On March 11, 2026, officers from the New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit, along with the Codiac Regional RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, arrested a 35-year-old Moncton man as part of the investigation into Melissa Price’s death. The following day, Devlin O’Blenis appeared in Moncton Provincial Court, where he was charged with first-degree murder.

On March 19, 2026, members of the New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team, and the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit arrested a second individual. On March 20, 36-year-old Joshua Martin appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder, and indignity to a human body. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on March 24.
