The 2025 Toronto Homicide Victim List is available here
The Toronto Police Service is providing an update on a homicide investigation following an incident on Thursday, March 20, 2025. At around 8:21 a.m., emergency responders arrived at Queen’s Park Crescent and College Street after receiving a call.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with visible injuries lying on the ground. Despite efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Mario Ferreira from Toronto.
The investigation quickly began, and video footage from the area revealed that the victim had been resting on a bench at 6 Queen’s Park Crescent when an unknown suspect approached. The suspect attacked him with an object, and the assault is believed to have been unprovoked. After the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium to large build, weighing around 200 lbs., with a black beard and short dreadlocked hair. He was last seen wearing a beige camouflage short-sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes, and carrying a black and blue backpack.


On Friday, March 21, 2025, Adimabua Chukwuka, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- First Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. in room 105.
