Update: Dwayne Ferris Charged With Murder – Thunder Bay Police Investigate the homicide of Maurice Kenneth Bruins Following a Break-In

Police responded to a 911 call around 3:00 p.m. on October 30th and discovered 67-year-old Maurice Kenneth Bruins deceased at a residence in the 100 block of College Street.

Authorities believe the incident may have been an interrupted break-and-enter and do not consider it a targeted attack.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking for the public’s assistance.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity or notices signs of a break-in at their home is urged to call 911 immediately.

Residents who may have seen anything related to this incident, or who have surveillance footage from the area, are asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police at 807-684-1200.

Updatre: On Tuesday, November 4, the suspect, Dwayne FERRIS, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder and Break-and-Enter.
