Waywayseecappo Detachment of the Manitoba First Nation Police Service received a report of a disturbance outside a residence located on Church Road o July 5th at 1:30 am.

On arrival, police located a 23-year-old male with serious injuries who was pronounced deceased on the scene. His identity and cause of death have been released.

On July 7, 2023, RCMP charged 25-year-old Talisa Brandon, from Waywayseecappo First Nation, with Manslaughter.

She was remanded into custody with her next court appearance scheduled for July 10 in Brandon.
