Murder & Arson charge laid following a fatal house fire that took the life of 80-year-old Anthony Ambrose in Brampton

Police and fire personnel responded to a residential address in the 20 block of Pennyroyal Crescent for a basement fire on July 2nd at approximately 1:33 p.m.

On arrival Emergency Services located an elderly male within the unit who was suffering from obvious signs of trauma. The victim, 80-year-old Anthony Ambrose succumbed to his injuries a short time later. 

July 5, 2023, Homicide Detectives charged the victim’s roommate, 26-year-old Julius Adigun, with the following Criminal Code Offences: 

  • Second Degree Murder 
  • Arson Endangering Life
