Peel police investigating the shooting death of 18-year-old D’rae Rhooms-Peters

Peel police received a call for someone that had been shot in the area of Highway 410 and Sandalwood Parkway East in the City of Brampton, on September 16th at approximately 2:28am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Police said one victim was rushed to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The second victim 18-year-old D’rae Rhooms-Peters from Brampton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A short distance from the crime a 2019 Honda Pilot, all black in colour with Ontario license plate CJRP 993 was stolen and fled the area. Police believe the thieves may have knowledge of the homicide and they should be considered armed and dangerous.
