Kingston Police were called to Kingston General Hospital in the evening of December 30, 2025, after an unidentified man arrived with injuries believed to be the result of an assault and later died.
Investigators subsequently identified the victim as 34-year-old Kingston resident Jayme Shawn Syring. Police determined the incident occurred at a residence in the 2600 block of Princess Street.
The Kingston Police Major Crime Unit has taken carriage of the investigation, with support from the Forensic Identification Section and the Patrol Division.
In the morning hours of January 1, 2026, police arrested 51-year-old Angelo Oliveira and charged with Second Degree Murder.
Through the course of the investigation, two additional suspects have been identified. 32-year-old Jesse Hanrahan of Kingston and 59-year-old Mike Barry also of Kingston are currently wanted for Second Degree Murder.
If you believe you see either of these individuals do not approach and contact 9-1-1 immediately.
Update: On January 7, 2026, at approximately 1:15 p.m. members of the Kingston Police arrested Mike Barry in the area of Princess Street and the Parkway.
Barry was charged with second degree murder and transported to Kingston Police headquarters. Barry is scheduled to attend a bail hearing.
