The 2023 Edmonton homicide victim list is available here

Edmonton police responded to the report of a weapons complaint at an apartment building in the area of 156 Street and 100 Avenue on Oct. 11, 2023, at approximately 5:00 a.m.

On arrival police located a female with serious, life-threatening injuries. EMS responded and attempted life-saving measures, but the female was pronounced deceased on scene.

An autopsy was completed on Oct. 12th and the Edmonton Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Winter Star Dion, 23, determined she died as a result of gunshot wounds, and the manner of death is homicide.

Keyannah Rose Redbear, 23, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Detectives believe that Redbear and Dion were known to one another.
