56-year-old man charged with First Degree Murder in relation to the homicide of a woman in Lincoln Ontario

Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a rural residential address located on Victoria Avenue between Greenlane and John Street, in the Town of Lincoln on October 11th at 7:52am.

Detectives assigned to the 8 District Criminal Investigative Unit responded to the scene and led the initial investigation with support from detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit and Forensic Services Unit.  Extensive NRPS resources including members of the Emergency Task Unit, Canine Unit, and Marine Unit were deployed to the property to assist with a coordinated search.

Police said at approximately 12:20pm, an adult female was located, deceased.

Police arrested a 56-year-old male, who is a resident of the Town of Lincoln, and charged him with first-degree murder.

Niagara police said “As this incident involves intimate partner violence, at this time, the NRPS will not be releasing the name of the accused in an effort to protect the identity of the victim and her surviving family.”
