Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 72-year-old Kenora man with second-degree murder following the death of a 46-year-old man at a residence in the northwestern Ontario community.

Police were called to a home on Heenan Place in Kenora on March 13, 2025, where officers found 46-year-old Albert Keesick Jr. in medical distress. He was later pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, OPP arrested 72-year-old Albert Keesick Sr. and charged him with second-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

Keesick Sr. was held in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on March 17, 2025.

The investigation remains ongoing. Members of the OPP North West Crime Unit, working under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, are being assisted by OPP Forensic Identification Services. Investigators are also working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety, although a significant police presence remains in the area while investigators continue their work.
