The Manitoba 2022 Homicide Victim List is available here

Island Lake RCMP responded to a report of a homicide at a residence on Wasagamack First Nation on May 9th at 9:50pm.

On arrival police found a 27-year-old-male from the community, deceased in the residence, and a 33-year-old female from Garden Hill First Nation, suffering from a stab wound. She was taken to a nursing station for medical attention and released.

Jon Hastings, 30, of Wasagamack First Nation was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted Murder.
