Boston Bar RCMP were alerted of a body near Highway 1 between Hope and Yale on May 26 at approximately 1:50pm by a motorist.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the deceased as Melissa Steele, 19, and said she was the victim of foul play. Police said she was known to frequent the downtown area of Vancouver and led a transient lifestyle.
