Update: Three charged – Peel police investigate a Mississauga restaurant shooting that left Naim Akl of Oakville deceased and 4 injured

Peel police responded to the report of a shooting inside a food establishment at The Collegeway and Glen Erin Drive on May 29th. Police said it is alleged the unknown suspect entered the restaurant and began shooting at the staff, striking the 56-year-old owner, his 44-year-old wife; his two sons aged 22-years-old and 25-years-old, and a 58-year-old male employee.

Police arrived to locate five victims. Four of the victims were rushed to hospital, the fifth victim 25-year-old son, was pronounced at the scene. Police have not released the status of the other four victims. One suspect was seen fleeing the scene.

Const. Danny Martini with Peel Regional Police said homicide detectives have taken carriage of the investigation, and are pulling surveillance video in order to piece together what happened. Anyone with info/video is asked to contact police at 905-453-3311.

Update June 1st
Peel police have identified the victim as 25-year-old Naim Akl from Oakville. The four other victims were transported to trauma centers and remain in stable condition. 

Update June 8th, Naqash Abbasi, 31, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
First Degree Murder
Attempted Murder Using Firearm x5

On Wednesday, June 9th, Suliman Raza, 25, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
First Degree Murder
Attempted Murder Using Firearm x5

On June 10th, Anand Nath, 20, of Mississauga surrendered to Montreal Police. He will be returned to the Region of Peel to answer to the charges of First Degree Murder and Attempt Murder Using a Firearm x5.

They have been found guilty of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder
