The 2023 Hamilton Homicide Victim List is available here

Hamilton Police were called to a residence on Cadham Boulevard just after 10:00 p.m on July 2nd.

On arrival police and paramedics located a 16-year-old male suffering from stabbing injuries.

The victim’s family has asked for privacy. They do not wish to release the name of their son at this time and Hamilton Police will respect their wishes.

The victim was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators began the search for the suspect and on July 3rd at 10:05am Hamilton Police confirmed 22-year-old Laureano Bistoyong, the victim’s cousin, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

On November 26, 2025, Bistoyong was found not criminally responsible. Justice Andrew Goodman of the Superior Court ruled that Laureano Bistoyong caused the death of Mark Bistoyong but could not be held criminally accountable due to a mental disorder.
