Double Homicide in Sudbury: Two Found Dead at Paris Street Apartment, One Suspect in Custody

At 10:23 p.m. on August 29, 2025, Sudbury police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting gunshots coming from inside a building located at 1960 Paris Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered the bodies of a man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, and a 41-year-old woman on one of the building’s floors.

44-year-old Keaton Pren has been arrested, and charged with First Murder x2. Investigators have determined that additional suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. Early findings suggest this was a targeted incident involving individuals who were known to one another. Police say there is no risk to public safety.

The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division, which is actively working to identify and locate the remaining suspects.

On August 31, 2025, police arrested and charged 32-year-old, Stephanie Labelle with Accessory After the Fact to Murder in relation to the ongoing investigation.

Update: Detectives have obtained images of three men believed to be involved in the incident. Images of the three individuals are attached.

Update: On October 4, 2025, 26-year-old Romaine Sam was taken into custody by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at Pearson International Airport on an outstanding warrant for two counts of second-degree murder.

Investigators determined that Sam fled to Southern Ontario shortly after the double homicide took place, and left the country before he was identified as a suspect. Upon his return to Canada, CBSA officers arrested him at the airport without incident.

Detectives continue to follow-up on information to identify the other two men believed to be involved.
