Around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, Brantford Police responded to reports of a stabbing near Colborne Street and Clarence Street.

When officers arrived, Brantford Fire and Brant-Brantford Paramedics were already on scene providing emergency care to the victim, who was then transported to hospital. Sadly, despite efforts to save his life, the victim died from his injuries.

Investigators determined that the suspect fled the scene on foot following the attack. Police later located and arrested the suspect nearby around 10:30 a.m.

A 27-year-old Brantford man has since been charged with Second-Degree Murder and two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation.
