Toronto police responded to a call for the Sound of Gunshots in the John Street and Adelaide Street West area on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 10:34 p.m.
On arrival, police located Jeshua Gabriel Buchoon, 36, of Toronto, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on August 6, 2025.
Officers located and arrested the suspects nearby, and a firearm was recovered.
Investigators said “Upon further investigation, it was determined that the victim was then inadvertently struck by an uninvolved vehicle that was attempting to flee the scene of the shooting. That incident is being investigated by Traffic Services and no charges have been laid.”
Update: The Aggravated Assault charge against Mitch Rambali, 26, of Mississauga, has been upgraded to:
- Second Degree Murder
