Toronto police responded to the  Coxwell Avenue and Hanson Street area on December 2nd on the report of a stabbing.

According to TPS, an argument between Candace Burkett and Matthew Rigby, 37, escalated, resulting in the stabbing of Rigby. He was rushed to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police arrested Candace Burkett, 35, in the area and charged her with second degree murder. Burkett is scheduled to appear at College Park Court on Wednesday, December 9, at 9:30 a.m., room 507 via virtual link.
