Charges laid in the death investigation of Danielle Stephanie Warriner

Toronto Police Service began an investigation into the sudden death of 43-year-old Danielle Stephanie Warriner, on May 28th.

It was reported that security guards at the Toronto General Hospital had a physical altercation with Warriner on May 11th, causing her to go into medical distress. Warriner was was later pronounced deceased at Toronto Western Hospital on Wednesday, May 27.

According to reports Warriner went to Toronto General Hospital on May 10 due to some breathing issues. Her sister Denise Warriner told CTV News “She suffered a deprivation of oxygen which then, as a result, she went into cardiac arrest, and of course, then sustained deprivation of oxygen to her brain, she had a brain injury.”

After a lengthy investigation police arrested  Amanda Rojas-Silva, 42, of Stouffville, and Shane Hutley, 35, of Brougham on November 30th, and charged both with:

  • Manslaughter
  • Criminal Negligence Causing Death

Both Rojas-Silva and Hutley are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, room 111 at 9:00am.
