The 2023 Toronto Homicide Victim List is available here

Toronto police responded to a call for the sounds of gunshots in the Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at approximately 2:45 a.m.

Police said it is alleged that two men approached a group of people, and began shooting into the group. The victim Kyle Provo, 33, was shot and succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

On October 6th police announced that Richard Baker, 48, of Brampton, and Nathan Bell, 37, of Brampton, have been arrested and both have been charged murder.

Update – May 29, 2026: Anita Nathan, counsel for Mr. Nathan Bell, advised that a jury in the Superior Court of Justice found Mr. Bell not guilty of murder on May 22, 2026. Mr. Bell has been acquitted of the charge.
