The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating after finding a body inside burned red Ford F-150 pickup in Langley

Langley RCMP was responded to the 8200 block of 197 Street on July 20th at approximately 7:00pm, on the report of a vehicle fire.

Police said a body was located inside the burned red Ford F-150 pickup once the fire was extinguished. The victim’s identity has not been released by investigators.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation and has not determined at this time if the event is linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Update July 28th
The victim has been identified by the IHIT as 36-year old Christopher Roy, from Vancouver. According to the Vancouver Sun, Roy who was also known as Whitey has links to the Wolf Pack gang and has a lengthy criminal history.

IHIT investigators were able to confirm that Christopher Roy was known to police, had a criminal record, and was connected to the current Lower Mainland gang conflict. Police believe the murder of Roy was targeted.

Sergeant David Lee of IHIT said “There are associates of Mr. Roy who knew of his activities prior to his death, we ask for those people to come forward.”
