Sudbury Police Investigate the Death of a Man Found in a Garage on Lansdowne Street

Sudbury police were called to Lansdowne Street regarding a suspicious vehicle on April 6, 2025, around 3:25 p.m.

A Black 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was found in a garage, with an unresponsive man inside. Emergency responders, including Greater Sudbury Fire Services, Paramedic Services, and the Police, arrived at the scene. Firefighters gained access to the vehicle, and paramedics confirmed the man was deceased, likely from a gunshot wound. The exact location of the injury has not yet been determined.

The man’s identity has not been confirmed, and a postmortem is scheduled for April 8, 2025, to help identify the individual and determine the cause of death.

Update: As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged 23-year-old, Jay Fournier, 22-year-old, Tori Toulouse and 25-year-old, Hailey Burnham with Accessory After the Fact to Murder. At about 3:30 p.m. on April 7, 2025, detectives from the Major Crime Section within the Criminal Investigation Division arrested 23-year-old Monica Shawanda. She is facing charges as an accessory after the fact to murder. Investigators believe Shawanda was driving during the incident and later concealed the vehicle in a garage on Lansdowne Street, where both the car and the deceased were eventually found.

Police have released images of the individual believed to be responsible for the murder (images attached).
