The Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here

On April 6, 2025, at 6:15 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a non-responsive male at a residence on Pacific Avenue.

Officers found 32-year-old Kelsey Traverse, a member of Lake St. Martin First Nation, deceased.

The Homicide Unit identified Michael George Lavallee, 33, of Winnipeg, as a suspect. They determined Traverse and Lavallee were previously known to each other and that an altercation led to Traverse’s death.

Lavallee has been charged with Second Degree Murder and is in custody.
