The 2024 Saskatoon Homicide Victim List is available here

Saskatoon police were called to the 3200 Block of 33rd Street West for reports of an insecure property on April 15, 2024.

On arrival police located 24-year-old, Melissa Duquette deceased in the basement. Police have not released the cause of death, only stating the death of Melissa id the city’s 7th homicide of the year.

Update: On July 17, 2024, Sundance Okemaysim, Kevin Keenatch and Kendall Ameech were charged with First Degree Murder. 28-year-old Kendell Ameech is also arrestable for this homicide and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. 

Update: On June 20th 2025, the charges against Kevin Keenatch, Sundance Okemaysim, and Kendall Ameech were stayed in Saskatoon Provincial Court.

The Crown is not required to explain its decision when charges are stayed. Although stayed charges can be reinstated within a year, this is uncommon. Such decisions are typically made when there is a lack of sufficient evidence or when witnesses are unwilling to participate.
