Charges Laid – Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit investigate the death of a man in Bell’s Point

La Ronge RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence on Jack Bell Place in Bell’s Point on July 21st at approximately at approximately 3:15am.

Police arrived to find a deceased 24-year-old Bell’s Point resident. His family has been notified and police are not releasing his identity at this time.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating and asks anyone with information to contact La Ronge RCMP at 306-425-6730

Update:

RCMP announced on July 28th that 23-year-old Cameron Ross, 21-year-old Charmaine Charles, 20-year-old Gracie Isbister, 21-year-old Katelyn Halkett, a 17-year-old female youth and a 17-year-old male youth, all of the La Ronge District, are charged with:

  • one count, first degree murder, section 235(1) of the Criminal Code
  • one count, break and enter and commit the indictable offence of mischief, section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Gracie Isbister and the female and male youth have also been charged with one count, uttering threats to cause bodily harm. The male youth is has been charged with one count, intent to commit an indictable offence, did have his face masked, section 351(2) of the Criminal Code. The two youths will not be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police added that the male youth has not been located and there is a warrant for their arrest. Due to his age, police cannot identify him as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
