Calgary Police said Tammie Doreen Howard, also known as ‘Irish’, 49, was last heard from on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016. Her family reported her missing in April 2017 and a police investigation was initiated.
Investigators have followed up on many leads and now believe Irish was the victim of a homicide. CPS is reaching out to the public to gather information regarding a vehicle we believe to be connected to her death, a light-coloured Jeep Wrangler, and ask anyone who may have information about it to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

Calgary police announced on August 6th that they now have reason to believe that evidence related to her death may be located east of Calgary. Police said with the help of the public, and through the investigative process, Investigators believe that evidence related to Irish’s death may be located on Siksika Nation land. The investigation into the murder of Irish is ongoing and we ask that anyone who has information regarding her disappearance or death, contact police at 403-266-1234.
Update August 11th
Acting Staff Sergeant Lee Treit, of Calgary Police said in a press release “Over the last five years, our Missing Persons Unit investigators have followed up on leads and poured over evidence in an effort to locate Irish, who we believe was murdered in a particularly violent way. We are saddened to share that through DNA processes, we have located and identified partial remains of Irish and continue to search for additional remains.”
As a result of the investigation Natalie Renee VINJE, also known as NV Evans, 36, of Calgary, has been charged with first-degree murder. Police do not believe the accused acted alone and continue to Investigate.
