New Brunswick 2026 Homicide Victim List

Codiac Regional RCMP officers responded to a report of a seriously injured man on St. George Street in Moncton at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2026.

When police arrived, they found 34-year-old Zachary Pollock in a parking lot suffering from critical injuries. Officers and emergency responders performed life-saving measures before Pollock was transported to hospital. He later died from his injuries.

The New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is treating Pollock’s death as a homicide.

A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office is assisting investigators. An autopsy is also scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

Update: On Aug. 31, 2026, the Major Crime Unit arrested a 29-year-old Moncton man after he was located by the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit. Police said the arrest was made without incident as part of the ongoing investigation.

The following day, Sept. 1, 29-year-old James Hannah appeared in Moncton Provincial Court, where he was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Zachary Pollock. Hannah was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again at a later date.
