Update: Erica Blyth, Joshua McIsaac, Devon Mark Hood and Matthew David LeBlanc charged with murder – Missing New Brunswick Man Brandon Donelan located deceased. Police investigate his death as a homicide

New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit located a body in a wooded area off a snowmobile trail between Minto and Chipman on March 31st at approximate;y 7:00pm.

As a result of the investigation, the victim has been identified as Brandon Donelan of Minto, 27, who was reported missing on January 30, 2022. His death has been deemed a homicide.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on Wasson Road in Newcastle Creek, near Minto on April 4th. A woman was arrested at the scene on an unrelated matter and was later released pending a future court appearance.

Update: According to Global News NB in November 2017, Donelan, was sentenced to 42 months in prison for sexual assault and sexual interference involving a minor who was just 13-years-old.

Police have not said if his history was motive for the homicide.

Update: On June 21st police executed a search warrant at a residence on Wasson Road in Newcastle Creek, near Minto and arrested a 40-year-old at the scene. A 25-year old man, who was present at the residence, was also arrested in relation to a Canada Wide warrant for parole violation.

On June 22, a charge of first degree murder was laid against Erica Blyth, in Fredericton Provincial Court. She remains in custody, and is scheduled to reappear in court on September 6.

On June 29, police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the investigation, at a correctional facility in Dorchester where he is currently serving a federal sentence on an unrelated matter.

On June 30, the charge of first-degree murder that was previously laid against Erica Blyth was withdrawn, and a new charge of first-degree murder was laid jointly against Erica Blyth and Joshua McIsaac. Both individuals remain in custody, and will return to court at a later date.

On October 3, police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old man in connection with the investigation at a correctional facility in Dorchester, where they are currently serving federal sentences on unrelated matters. On October 4, first-degree murder charges were laid jointly against Devon Mark Hood and Matthew David LeBlanc in Fredericton Provincial Court. Both men were remanded into the custody of Corrections Canada and are scheduled to appear in court on October 25 at 9:30 a.m.
