Joanne Elizabeth Baker-Spence charged – Manitoba RCMP investigates the homicide of a man in O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation

South Indian Lake RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male located in a wooded area outside the community of O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation on May 4, 2024, at 7:50 pm.

Officers attended and located a 61-year-old male with obvious injuries. Police said the death is being treated as a homicide.

On May 7, 2024, RCMP arrested Joanne Elizabeth Baker-Spence, 28, who was charged with Manslaughter and remanded into custody.
