Police responded to a vehicle fire around 4 a.m. on August 23, 2025, on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road in Kamloops. Bain was found deceased inside a black 2019 Volkswagen Golf, which investigators believe was deliberately set on fire.

Before the fire, the vehicle was reportedly seen travelling through Kamloops’ North Shore area alongside a blue vehicle. Investigators are working to determine what happened before Bain’s death and are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen him before the incident.
