Kitchener police lay manslaughter charge in February drug overdose

Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of King Street West in Kitchener after receiving a report of a possible drug overdose on February 25th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find two men ages 26 & 26. One man was rushed to hospital and has since been released. The 26-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to police, investigators have determined that the suspect trafficked fentanyl, which was assumed to be cocaine.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man on April 9th and charged him with Manslaughter, Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm, Trafficking and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
