A 32-year-old man is dead following a stabbing at a Brampton residence early Friday morning, Peel Regional Police say.

Officers were called to a home near Main Street North and Church Street East around 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 26 after a 911 call reported a stabbing. Police found the victim inside the residence with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people who were inside the home at the time were arrested and charged with second-degree murder. They are identified as Jaiden Brett-Hughes, 26, of Mississauga, and Tandaeka Frazer, 31, of Brampton. Both are scheduled to appear for bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Monday, Dec. 29.

Investigators say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Police are not looking for any additional suspects.
