Update: IHIT investigates the shooting death of a man at a downtown Maple Ridge gym

Police responded to the report of a shooting at Olympians Gym at 22611 Lougheed Hwy in Maple Ridge on April 9th at approximately 4:30pm.

On arrival police located a male victim, inside a vehicle, suffering from gun shot wounds. The victim has died of his injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity at this time.

RCMP said “The investigation is in the very early stages however, the preliminary details reveal that this does not appear to be a random incident.”

Ridge Meadows RCMP will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team in relation to the murder.

Update April 11th,
Police have identified the deceased as Darr Khunkhun, 41, of Maple Ridge.
