Kingston police responded to the report of a stabbing at home on Durham Street in the city’s Williamsville district on April 9th.

The injured 29-year-old man was rushed to Kingston General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police are searching for John MCKENNA, 26, who is wanted for murder. He was last seen on foot in the area of Durham Street near MacDonnell Street in downtown Kingston.

MCKENNA was last seen wearing a green jacket, dark jeans, and running shoes.

MCKENNA’s current whereabouts are unknown and he should not be approached. Members of the public are urged to call 9-1-1 if he is observed or if they have information.

Update:
Kingston police said in a press release on April 10th that at approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 9, John MCKENNA was spotted in the 100 block of Montreal Street. A foot pursuit ensued with police locating the suspect a short time later hiding in a shed on Raglan Road. MCKENNA was taken into custody without incident.
