Toronto police responded to the report of a shooting in the Dundas Street East and George Street area on April 9th at approximately 6:30 pm.
It has been reported that a man approached Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, 35, of Toronto and shot him multiple times. Mahepath was transported to hospital via emergency run where he died of his injuries.
The suspect who is described as male black, 35-40 years, short hair, wearing a light-coloured long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and light blue surgical mask, was last seen walking west bound on Dundas Street East.

Update April 12th
Chief of Police James Ramer updated the media on the arrest of 39-year-old Richard Jonathan Edwin in homicide investigations 19 and 20. Police allege that Richard Jonathan Edwin discharged a handgun striking Kartik Vasudev multiple times before fleeing the scene. Police further alleged that the accused approached the second victim, 35-year-old Elijah Eleazar Mahepath who was walking westbound on the north side of Dundas Street East near George Street.
Investigators believe the murders were random attacks and the victims were not known to the accused or each other. Richard Jonathan Edwin has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder.
