The human remains located on March 21, 2016have been determined to be those of Awet Ghebre 23. Awet Ghebre was last seen  on June 14, 2015 and last heard from via phone on June 17, 2015. His family reported him missing on July 1, 2015.

The Edmonton man’s death has been deemed a homicide on April 22 2016, and EPS Homicide Detectives continue to investigate.

Even though Ghebre went missing in 2015, Edmonton police are calling it the city’s 17th homicide of 2016.
