Update: Victims Identified – Durham Region police investigate a double homicide in Bowmanville

Durham Region police responded to a check on welfare at an address on Crombie Street, on February 4th at approximately 2:15pm.

On arrival police located two deceased adults suffering from obvious signs of trauma. Members from Forensic Investigative Services were called to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation. The victim’s gender and identities have not been released.

The Homicide Unit has now taken over this investigation and anyone with information or video footage, including dashcam and home surveillance, to please contact Det. Dorego of the Major Crimes Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5319.

The two deceased are the third and fourth victims of homicide in Durham Region in 2023. 

Update February 8th
the victims have been identified as a 28-year-old male Aram KAMEL and a 26-year-old female, Rafad ALZUBAIDY.  Aram previously went by the name of Aram AL-KAMISI. Investigators said that Rafad was pregnant at the time of the homicide.
